XP taskbar appearance

My taskbar was switched to classic view so that
the "start" comes up square instead of rounded. There is
not a option to switch it back. What do I do?

Try using System Restore to take you back to a time prior to when this
began. Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

If that fails to resolve it, go to Control Panel, open System, go to the
Advanced tab, click Settings under Performance, place a check next to
"Adjust for best appearance," click apply and ok. If it is checked, uncheck
it by selecting a different option, click apply and ok then check it and
click apply and ok.
