XP SP2 and Dr. Watson Post Mortem errors??

R

Robert

I installed SP2 on my home XP Pro system and now when
using windows explorer to view files on hard drive I get
the Dr. Watson Post Mortem Debugger error everytime.

I can't search for files either as explorer.exe just
hangs.

I know others are having this issue but there haven't
been any cures that I have noted.

I will begin to check for all hardware and software
updates tonight and hopefully this might help.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have two XP Pro systems now exhibiting the same problem as Robert notes.
This is immediately after the installation of Service Pack 2. Surely there
are more?
Dr. Watson fails completely when trying to report a failure on any other
issue in XP Pro. You end up choosing to close not just the initial failure
but the failure of Dr. Watson also.
My updates are current.
I also have an "Iexplore.exe" error (which is what generally initiates the
Dr. Watson problem). Internet Explorer is not able to invoke a new web page
from selection boxes. For example, if I am on a page that offers me a
selection of "quizzes" such as 1, 2, 3, 4 in a drop-down menu box none will
open. Positioning the cursor on the appropriate selection results in the
selection being highlighted and the "IExplore.exe" encountering a problem and
"needs to close". This issue is not related to pop-up stopper.
Any comments?

I installed SP2 on my XP home system and whenever I empty the recycl
bin i get a message saying that "Dr Watson post mortem debugger ha
encountered a problem and needs to close" I delete the message and th
pc just freezes up, so I have to restart it. Then the whole thing'
dead slow, using the internet, even just clicking on something take
ages. This has been going on for 2 weeks now and it's getting me down
I don't want to delete or interfere with anything, so any advice woul
be very welcome
