Since installing SP1, I have been plagued by programs that ran before
refusing to run - usually with no explanatory error message. Installations
of new programs (eg for my new scanner) were similarly blighted. These
programs would work only for an administrator, which is not much good.
I have asked for help here several times but without success (the MS
website is not helpful either (it just admits that this is a "feature" of
SP!), so I have been driven to converting my C: drive from NTFS to FAT32.
Yes, I have lost some facilities but at least all my programs work now!
