XP sound problems

Hi

Recently installed XP. Now media player does not
recognise any MP3 files or the sounds shipped with XP
(samples> alsovarious sounds missing on various games. eg
ATC,flaps, wheels on flight sim.

Anyone help?

Which WMP ? If its version 9, you can do a re-install on top if it. Does
that help ?

Right click on an mp3 file and select Open With. Select WMP and then make
sure the box is checked so that you always open that type of file with WMP.

Go into control Pannel > Sounds and Audio Devices Properties > Sounds tab.
Under "Sound Schemes", make sure No Sounds is NOT selected. You can then add
or undo sounds to the various actions.
