Hi,

Go to google and type in the error message in the search
columb which should provide you with the details. In the
meantime i would just do a system restore and also a
virus check

That may arise from a driver, or it may arise from badly written code in
certain third party applications of the character of Norton System Works
or Norton Internet security. If you have installed one of those, I
would try disabling it and see.

If it is a driver, then things are being complicated by the system's
'automatically restart' cutting in. Turn this off: in Control Panel -
System - Advanced, click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section.
There uncheck 'automatically restart'. You can also usefully change the
'write debugging information' to (none). You may now get a Blue screen
failure instead, - in that look at the bottom line for the name of a
file - something.sys that will be the driver in trouble. You can look
for it in Widnows\system32\drivers and r-click it, take Properties,
where the Version page should show what it relates to

As Alex Nichol said, you may have a bad driver. You may also have
hardware problems, like bad RAM or a failing hard drive.
Troubleshooting these sorts of errors can be difficult. Unless you are
skilled with computers, you'd do best to take it to a good local repair
shop (not a BestBuy or CompUSA type of store). Here are some generic
troubleshooting steps for hardware:

1) open the computer and run it open, cleaning out all dust bunnies and
observing all fans (overheating will cause system freezing); 2) test
the RAM - I like Memtest86 from www.memtest86.com - let the test run
for an extended (like overnight) period of time - unless errors are
seen immediately; 3) test the hard drive with a diagnostic utility from
the mftr.; 4) the power supply may be going bad or be inadequate for
the devices you have in the system; 5) test the motherboard with
something like TuffTest from www.tufftest.com.

Win32k.sys is a central system component, a 'Multi User driver', which
is not likely to have coding errors, and one can't tell what was using
it. The other item of information that is useful is the initial. . .
8E, for which I find at Jim Eshelman's www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler
didn’t catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues
(which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).

And as win32k.sys is that central driver, maybe basic hardware trouble.
That is looking most likely to me, probably RAM in trouble or mismatched
(in XP if you have more than one module of RAM it is *vital* that they
match properly). I don't think I can add much to what Malke has said
