I think I may have gotten the sasser worm. When my
computer starts up after the windows xp splash screen when
the screen goes black just before before xp runs I get a
quick flash of a screen with all kinds of info on it that
I cant read because it flashes to quick and then my
computer shuts down and reboots. How can I read the screen
to find out whats wrong or how do I repair the problem.

i work for a computer companiy and i fixed the very
problem today:)

the computer that i fixed would start up and the splash
page would have all the loading stuff and then a blue
screen with mords of the boot prosess. it flashes for a
second then reboots.

i hit F8 when it restarted and loged on in safe mode and
scaned for firus using Mcafee Virus Scan with the latest
SuperDAT. Searched for spyware using Search and Destroy
and Adaware 6. after rebooting everything went back to
normal.

email me if this doesnt work

Hi

It doesn't matter whether you work a PC company or not. Boot into Safe Mode
and then run the virus check via the MS link I provided - don't worry about
MacAfee. You will then be sure if that PC is infected.

If you work for a PC company - please ensure that you a firewall running at
all times and that Windows Update is set to 'Automatic'.

The F word rules.

BTW - when you start to use a news reader, you might like to enable the
spellchecker!!
