How an I get it to show them as 'MP3 audio files' or
whatever again? Below is a link to a screenshot, containg
a capture of my 'My Music' folder. As you can see, my
WMAs still show as Windows Media Audio.

I would recommend that you change your Windows Explorer view to "not hide
the file extension of known file types." It only takes a moment- the
instructions are part way down this page:
http://www.antichip.org/virusinfo/extensions.html

This will accomplish two things. First of all, when you look at that list
of music files, you'll now see your files named as: "The Cult - She Sells
Sanctuary.mp3" and "The Ones - Flawless.wma." Secondly, it will help to
un-disguise the true file extensions of files you download if they have been
maliciously renamed (as that page describes.)

I would also recommend that you play that Cult song really loud.

Regards,
Ian.
