XP refusing to start; Error in drivers

I was casually listening to music on Windows Media Player,
when the system went down, and rebooted itself. This is
using XP, and it happens every so often, so I wasn't
worried about it.

It began to load, but no dice. It took me immediately to
the "safe boot" selection screen, and I tried every
option. One after the other, each ending in failure, mind
you. The response "Open in safe mode" showed me what order
the files were loading in, and it had stopped after
Mup.sys.

Using the XP install cd, I set the boot driver to the
CDROM drive, and attempted to run the system repair.
That's when I got this error:

*** STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902F8, 0xF79B0704, 0XF79B0404,
0XF71BE411)

*** NTSF.SYS - Address; F71BE411 Base at F7150000,
datestamp 3B7DC5D0

I tried my luck running a virus scan from my Norton CD,
but no dice there, either.

I have no DOS prompt available to me, and a blue screen of
death such as this keeps me at bay. There is no way to
overwrite the files, my computer was not networked to the
rest in the house (Though I am wondering if I would be
able to reach it anyway from that route), and I am in dire
need of help.
