Hey guys I've been having problems with my pc's performance and it has gotten
worse as the days go by.
1 - when opening ms.word takes forever - and frequently when i minimize Word
it closes alltogether and depending on its "mood" it saves changes on the
document or not. - actually not only word but all ms.office products give me
a problem. I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, same crap.
2 - its starting to happen more now that i turn on the machine try to open
ANY program and nothing happens - then 5 minutes later everything opens at
once.
3 - must i mention that my machine beeps at start up
beep, beep, (pause) beep (bigger pause) beep (even bigger pause) beep then
finishes loading.
I got a win xp sp2 768mbRam 1.8ghz 80gbHardDrive
please let me know what should i do - do i have many programs on my machine
is anything starting to fail???

Depending on your BIOS type the beeps could mean different problems,
take a look here

When your machine is sick, that's a sign it may be time to backup all
of your important stuff. (you should do this anyway)

It may be time to reformat and reinstall. If it's still problematic,
then your hardware is to blame. I suspect that you have a late-stage
virus problem, or some serious configuration issues. It's sometimes a
lot easier to nuke it than it is to find the problem.

About the beeps, there is one very important question: has your
computer always done this, or is this a new pattern? If this is a new
pattern, forget about the virus bit, and work with the hardware.
