Rob: Incorrect... You don't need to use the CD to boot to the Administrator
account in XP Home... You only need the CD if you want to boot to the
recovery console and don't have that installed.

Chris: If running XP Pro, on the welcome screen press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice to
get the login dialog, set the name to Administrator and the password will be
whatever you setup when you installed Windows. If windows was preinstalled,
this password will be blank.

If running XP Home, then you need to boot in to safe mode before you can log
in on the Administrator account. Turn on your PC and after the BIOS display
clears, start tapping F8 until you get the boot menu, then choose safe mode.
Set the username to Adminstrator as above, the password will be blank.

You will then be able to access the passwords applet in the control panel
and reset the password for your user (and check the actual user name!)

Greetings --

Log in using the built-in Administrator account, and reset
passwords and/or create/modify user accounts as desired. In WinXP
Pro, press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome Screen. In WinXP Home,
restart into Safe Mode.
