xp product key

Hi all,
I need to reinstall windows xp on a computer that was done
improperly. We have a half dozen computers that
unfortunately were not noted what was what when they had
xp installed on them. how do i find the xp product key on
a computer that has xp installed on it. i need to
eliminate the computers that are functioning and the only
way i can see to do this is to check the product key
against the key on the cd booklet for windows xp.

Start | Control Panel | System - the General tab opens, and there is your
product key. Here at work we write basic system info on index cards and glue
them to the sides of the monitors. Not elegant, but it works.

Mike;
That will show the Product ID, not the Product Key.
The Product Key has not been there since Windows 95.
