XP Pro Workstation

I am running a single domain network with Windows 2000 server.
All workstations are running Windows 2000.
The entire system (network) is working properly until I added two
Windows XP Pro Workstations. Problem is that it takes too long, about
3-5 minutes, for XP workstations to login to the Domain. Besides, the
XP workstations seem slow in retrieving data from Win2000 server.
Obviously I missed something along the line.

Any response is greatly appreciated.

First make sure that the built in ICF firewalls are disabled on the XP Pro machines
and that their dns configuration is correct. They must point only to an AD domain
controller as their preferred dns server in tcp/ip properties. Running netdiag on
them may also help looking for any failed tests that may be pertaining. Netdiag is
located on the XP install disk in the support/tools folder where you need to run the
setup program there. --- Steve

Check the ipconfig/all on the XP's. Does everything point to the server-IP?

I have noticed that disabling "simple file sharing" in windows xp pro will
greatly improve the perfomace of getting data from a network that has
windows 2000.
