Okay here is my problem, I had Windows 2000 Pro which I love and hate
to have to leave behind but the music programs I use require it, anyway
that's getting off of the subject. When I put in the disk and ran the
text based setup everything went according to plan. It formats
completely erasing everything and copies the files.
When it asks me about rebooting and I remove the disk, it asks me for a
boot disk to get the system running. What should I do, I generally
consider myself somewhat PC savvy, but this is wrecking my brain. Do I
need a program that will re-write over the entire drive leaving nothing
as if it was new, then restart or what? Someone please help me.

You must be running in IE,for a format to run no OS is present, also, how
does it "format everything" but still "copies files"....Try booting to the
cd,
not the hd.

Basically you set your BIOS so that the machine boots from the CD.

Insert the CD abd boot the machine (look for the "press any key....")
message then follow the prompts. The set up will give you the option to
delete the partition, once this is done XP will format the partition in
your choice of NTFS or FAT 32.

Make sure you have your product key handy and any MB driver CD/video
drivers etc. etc. CDs.
