Hi,

I have
motherboard Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9
dualboot windows 2000 and XP on 2 partitions of a Western digital hard
drive in IDE

I have a HD Hitachi deskstar 250 Go in SATA only for data (not boot).
Without drivers, HD is recognized by Win2k pro and appears in
devices managers.
Under XP pro, the disk is not recognized. It does not appear anywhere.
Strange, isnt-it ?
I've tried to install/desactivate/uninstall raid drivers without
success. I have not ideas anymore.
Help me !!
Are there specific drivers for hitachi or gigabyte under xp pro ?
Thanks,

ALexandra

Is the SATA drive formatted,if not,boot to xp cd,press F6 when prompted,after
you install drivers,at windows boot info screen press r for recovery, press
enter
key for password, type:DiskPart In DiskPart, create a partition in SATA drive,
then press Esc key,then type:FORMAT D: /FS:ntfs D: being the SATA,when its
thru type:EXIT Let xp restart, remove cd.Also, you may need to configure the
SATA drive in the BIOS,enabling IDE and SATA.

I'm running an ABit IC7-G motherboard and the Phoenix Award BIOS has SATA
included. You might check your CMOS settings and see if all SATA items are
enabled.
