Select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services and right
click on Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) and select Properties. The
StartUp
type should be Manualc. Is it?

Change to Manual. Click on the scroll bar to the right of Disabled and
click on Manual, Apply and OK. Restart your computer.

See if that resolves your problem.

Gerry: I tryed that and it did not help, but causes another problem, which
is: When I click on Start, My Computer the window comes up blank with the
little sourch flashlight (torch) moving to and frow until the window is
filled with the correct images. So I went back to Disabled.
Now what?
Thanks
