XP Pro problem during reformatting and reinstalling

I replaced a bad video card and wanted to reinstall Windows XP. After
deleting the three partitions on my harddrive and making them one (partitions
not really practical or required with XP I realized) then formatting to NTFS
I could not get through the installation of Windows XP Pro for anything.
More than one problem comes up. The first two occur randomly when "setup
loading files" is running at the begining of installation. One, the system
stops cold when the "Kernel debugger.dll" is loading. Two, the same thing
sometimes happens when "FAT file system" is loading. I have gotten through
it and have run into other problems in the next part of Windows XP
Professional setup. I get blue screens that pop up warning "ntfs.sys
problems." One says "Page_Fault_in_nonpaged area" and another says
"Driver_IRQL_not _less_or_equal." Sometimes my PC just reboots around 21% of
this second setup phase and sometimes stops cold when loading "driver.cab"
(around 17% of setup).

I have been thorugh this many times. My MB has SATA Raid and an onbard Raid
chipset. I have specific files (ones that worked before) on a floppy for
these features. I have tried to install Windows with them enabled and
disabled in BIOS. This is not the first time I have installed this operating
system on my PC. Everything has worked before. I have tried this with two
different harddrives. One has not had Windows XP Pro on it at all, while the
original had Service Pack 2. What is going on?

Since all this happened with the replacement of the video card, I would
consider this a prime suspect as the source of the problem problem. Did the
new video card fit into the slot and align with the case properly? Sometimes
a card will not align properly and cause other devices to pull out of their
slots. Make sure all your connections are good and if you have another video
card, try it and if it does successfully complete setup, reinstall the new
replacement video card.
