XP Pro - message icon in toolbar

This is a simple question but I don't use XP very often
and so don't know where to find the option!

One of our users no longer gets the envelope icon
appearing in her bottom right toolbar when she receives a
new mail. She needs to know as soon as she gets a mail
and so is finding no longer having this a bit of a
nuisance.

Can some nice person tell me where the option to get this
back is?

Kirsten;
Is there a << looking deal down by the clock in the bottom right hand corner of
the screen? If there is, left click it. This hides the in-active icons.
Try this: Right click Start/Properties/Taskbar tab/is Hide inactive icons
checked?/Customize button/look for the OE envelope icon/highlight it and change
to:Always Show/OK & Apply your way out.
