XP Pro Licence Delema

Hi

I need to do some major overhaul on my compter and then re-install windows
XP PRO.

I have all the original disks an service patches for my programs including
the XP PRo operating system.

As I understand things ... when you do a major change ... XP will not be
recognized by Microsoft for use on the 'fixed up' computer.

How do I un register my copy of XP PRo so I can re-install it on a 'fixed up
/ new computer' ??

Ask in a Windows newsgroup.

Gordon,

It is really no dilemma. Just do your re-install, and if it fails to
activate on the first try, call Microsoft by using the telephone method of
activation. It takes about five minutes every time I do it.
