xp pro issue with connectivity and log in

Ok, I work at a business that has a network. No one else's computer is doing
this. This one comupter is coming up with something like 'can't connect to
domain controller'. I have tried new NIC card, new cables, new ends on
cables. With a switch(was connected to one) and without. Sometimes I can log
in other times I can't. If I tip the computer(I know I shouldn't) to make
sure network lites are working, they are. I have checked switches and hubs.
Could this be a computer issue like the computer is dying or is there
something I'm overlooking.
Please help.

See if it can ping the domain controller by it's IP address and fully
qualified domain name as in dc1.mydomain.com. Verify that it is using ONLY
domain controllers as it's preferred dns server as shown by ipconfig /all
and NEVER have an ISP domain controller in the list. Try running the support
tool netdiag on it to see if problems are found with winsock, dns, dc
discovery, or trust/secure channel. Post the output of netdiag here in a
reply if you have any questions. Support tools are on the XP install disk in
the support tools folder where you have to run the setup there to install
them. Verify that the workstation, dhcp client, dns client, RPC, and tcp/ip
netbios helper services are all started via services.msc. Look in the
application and system logs for any related errors/warnings via Event
Viewer. --- Steve
