XP Pro Installation Problems

Hi, I was just recently upgrading my XP home edition to XP Pro on my IBM
PC...Anyways I get about half way through the installation process when I
receive a prompt saying that an existing driver (VGA i think) failed to pass
the XP logo test, now no matter which option i select the installation
process seems to crash and reboot the system. Now it wont allow me to do
anything cause it keeps rebooting the installation process and I don't want
to format the machine as i have important and sentimental data on it.... Can
anyone suggest how i can recover my disk, or overcome this problem?

Sebastian,

Can you boot into Safe Mode (use F8 as system attempts to boot into
Windows)?

If so, do so and set the video to VGA. Then reboot normally and see if
things work. If it then completes the install you should be able to
re-choose an appropriate video driver for your system.
