XP Pro Activiation

Unable to activate Windows XP Pro with the Product Key included with CD ROM. Bought COA (Certificate of Authenticity) thru eBay but I am unable to activate Windows XP Professional. I called the activiation group, and they generated me a new Product Key, which also was invalid. If COA had been used before (vendor asserted that it had not been used before) the system would let me know that (I think). I intend to call the activiation group again, telling them my case#, and hope they can activate the product, instead of routing my call to technical support, who referred me back to the product activiation group. Anybody out there have any ideas on how to proceed?

Contact eBay and report the seller for selling pirated software,
and chalk this up as a learning experience. Oh, and, in the future,
buy software only from verifiable and reputable sources. eBay does
nothing to ensure that the software sold via their service is
legitimate; they only act after someone (like you) has been swindled
and complains.
