XP partition invisible after Vista install

Hi All,

After installing Vista on C:, my existing XP partition on D: is not listed
in the boot menu. How can I bring it back (considering there is no more
fdisk/mbr to speak of)?

I've pored over bcdedit for hours and days. Can bcdedit do this, or what
tool do I need?

It all depends on the type of partition software you have. I had the same
problem. I use the VCOM System Commander. I called VCOM technical support
and they helped me restore the OS Selection menu. I used the partition
software CD to start the program. Then within the partition software
program, I set the boot partition to XP. When it booted into XP, I went to
Start/Programs and looked for the partition software. I enabled it. That
did it. It is something I still do not feel confident to do on my own. Any
mistake could cause big problem. Good luck!

You should be able to do it with bcedit but the user interface leaves a lot
to be desired.. Here are a couple of easier alternatives.
