XP or AD first?

My organization is debating whether to put XP on the network first or AD.
Are there any advantages to either. If anyone can refer me to any KB
articles, that would be great.

Thank you,
Reggie.

I would deploy AD first and then update your workstations to XP. This gives
you time to get AD up and running and sort out GPO, RIS, intellimirror and
any other technologies you might want to use, upgrade a few workstation to
XP and do a proper pilot.

What workstation OS are you running now, and are you using an NT4 domain
already?

I see you have multi posted here and to the
microsoft.public.windows.server.active_directory newsgroup and not sure
where else. It would have been to your benefit to cross post it so you can
get a better collaborative effort between folks who monitor both newsgroups.

Lanwench, where's that link about mutliposting?

Hi Ace,

It's briefly mentioned in here. Sometimes I feel like posting this URL
to about 20 poster in a day! <grin>

If you do, probably no one will read it anyway before they post. Especially
if they're using the web method to post.
