xp only starts in safe mode

hello my xp is only starting in safe mode and if i try it normally i stay
stuck in the loading bar screen i have tried msdiag and uninstalled some
pprograms. another problem thats occured since is that i cannot update my
windows is it cause im running on safe mode??

If you boot to "safe mode with networking" then you should be able to
access Windows Update and get any updates.

What antivirus software are you using, and is it completely up to date
with the virus definitions not more than a week old?

What antispyware software are you using, and is being kept up to date?
