XP not the same as 2000 - Registry, Please Help!

R

Robert Paresi

We have saved our administrative staff a load of time by defaulting the
Recipient Name and Fax # before opening the Microsoft Fax window.

Now that we moved them to Windows XP, it no longer works.

In our program, all we would do is set the following keys in the registry
before printing the report.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Fax\RecipientName
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Fax\RecipientNumber

When Microsoft Fax would open, it would read these values and all the user
would have to do is send the fax.

Now - in XP - It no longer reads these keys (OR ANY KEYS) except for
UserInfo default.

Why?

This feature was removed in XP along the evolution of Fax.

Have you tried using COM API support provided by the Fax solution to enable
the same? I would recommend writing a small script that would default the
recipient name and number and take the other parameters (like Subject/Body)
