XP NOT LOADING

i switched on pc it began to load. At the splash screen an error message
saying explorer.exe problem could not find browseui.dll re install which i
ve now done.
Windows XP got to the login screen where I input my password as usual.
My chosen Windows XP background screen appeared but the desktop icons and
task bars would not apppear.
I can bring up the Windows task manager window and access PC that way but
cannot get it to load Icons..how do I fix this??? windows xp service pack 2 I
have been running this for a wile with no problems.

What is the virus/malware status of the computer? If you think it is
clean, what did you do/use to determine this?

Not sure, I went away for a few days and 10yr old son was on..but sure he didnt do anything..ran adaware found malware ...trojan deleted it..

Follow the malware steps at the link above doing everything in Safe Mode
with updated tools. Make sure your antivirus is a current version (not
earlier than 2004) and that the virus definitions are updated.
