xp ms-dos screen size

I have upgraded to XP Pro and am on a peer to peer
network. I have an older accounting program designed for
win95-98 that works fine in XP except the screen size only
fills half the monitor. From other posts and Help I seem
to feel I need resolution of 640 x 480, which does not
seem to be available with XP Pro on a network. Any
fix's? Thank you

Right-click the shortcut you're using to launch the program. Click the
Compatibility tab, and then check "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution"

I tried that, selection is grayed out and not available,
probably because I am on a network.
