XP Metadata for jpg's not saving data

I can no longer right click an image, select Properties>Summary and
edit the Title, Subject or any other field. I have checked the REGSVR32
SHIMGVW.DLL thing that is not the answer.

XP Pro will save summary info for all supported file types (txt pdf
etc) but not picture types (jpg tiff). It used to, and I still have
files with Title info but if I try to change it or enter something for
a new picture file...nothing.

I cannot find any reference to this problem on the Web, am I alone? I
am still not sure if the info is written to the file or the directory,
is it EXIF or metadata? Microsoft's KB is the usual waste of time.

When I run Filemon I have Msctf.dll & Msimtf.dll coming up, explorer
creates a SIV?.TMP file then there is QUERY INFO - INVALID PARAMETER
FileAttribute TagInformation. Any body else been here?

I don't know if it helps at all but there is a rather neat (& free (or
it was when I downloaded it)) utility by the name of PixVue - it does
some amazing stuff merely by a right-click on the image thumbnail

I have a similar problem. It started about a month or so ago. I have tried
changing file attributes (read only issue) but the problem still occurs. I
am running Adobe Photoshop ELements 4.0. Help, please!!!

"Similar problem" means very little.

Try beginning a new thread and explain
exactly what your problem is.
