XP Media Center remote control

I am sending a copy of this e-mail to Sony, Microsoft, and
Dish Network in the hopes of determining who to badger
into solving my problem.

I recently purchased a Sony Vaio VGC-RA710G computer
equipped with Microsoft's Media Center which, after
experiencing it for a few weeks, I am convinced that it
was money well spent. It has lived up to my expectations
in all the reasons that I bought it, except for one. I
was hoping to use the program guide to use the computer
like a TiVO for recording from my Dish Network satellite
receiver. My receiver has an UHF remote and the remote
sensor controls supplied with my state of the art computer
only sends an infrared signal. My receiver is 5 years old
so UHF remote technology is not new. I looked into
upgrading my receiver with Dish Network hoping they might
have dual UHF/IR capability, but was told all their new
receivers that were what I needed used UHF remotes only.
It seems like a replacement UHF remote sensor control and
maybe and update to include the codes in the Media Center
would bring everything into the 21st century as far as
remote technology is concerned. Any fix would be
appreciated, like a IR to UHF converter. Is there such a
thing? I am sure I am not the only person out here that
has this problem, if any person from the 3 named companies
above can help me in any way please e-mail me at
(e-mail address removed)

Thank you,
