XP loops on boot

Have a Compaq Presario 3000 with a c drive formatted as
NTFS. No floppy drive on system. When system is started,
automatically goes into safe mode. Any choice from the
safe mode menu starts the system, the Windows XP screen
appears and automatically reboots.

Cannot initiate the revovery console because cannot boot
to a NTFS drive. Any suggestions?

When did this behavior start? Did you make any changes of any kind to
the computer at the time this started?

When in Safe Mode try the following:

Press WindowsKey+Pause to open the System Properties window.
Click on the Advanced tab and then on the Settings button in the
Startup and Recovery (bottom) section.
In the Startup and Recovery window click on the checkbox for
"automatically restart" to clear it.

If the computer will not stay running long enough to do this then your
choices are probably limited to:
1. Contacting Compaq Tech Support
2. Using your Compaq Recovery Disk to wipe out the current Windows
install (and everything else on your hard drive) and reinstalling a
fresh copy of Windows on the empty hard drive.

Good luck
