XP Logon

Tony

I have done a new install of XP Home. When I boot up I
get to a logon screen for a guest account which requires
a password. I didnt set a password during set up. I
booted into 'safe' mode and get to the Admin' logon which
requirs a password also. Same problem, I didnt set one.
Any help to get past the logon would be much appreciated.
Thanx...Tony

Tony,

When you install Windows XP, you will be asked to enter a password for the
Administration account.

For the guest account, try leaving the password field blank and click Enter.
See if you are able to login.

If you have forgotten the administrator's password, please use this free
tool to reset the password:

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Hope this helps.

Thanks Guys.......
I have tried with no logon.....

When I installed xp I didn't get to a spot where I was
asked to set up any kind of password, thats the problem.
I'm being asked for a password that shouldnt be there...
Will try the admin password link...thanks again.

One of the last steps is to create a password for the administrator account.
You probably either misread or didn't read what it said and clicked right
passed it. It happens.
