I just read how to do it on the following site.
http://www.pcguidebook.com/homenetwork.asp
But in the meantime, go Start, Run and type in cmd. This will bring up a DOS
screen. Then type ipconfig. It worked for me.
Or, go Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt and once again
ipconfig.

I can't believe no-one suggested you look at the >>>>PATH<<<<
go to the command prompt and type PATH

Make sure there is a
c:\windows\system32; in there.
If it aint in there, the system can't find a file when it aint looking
in the directory...

Just a thought.

Cheers...

Subject: XP KILLED IPCONFIG!!!!!! ...Please Help....Re: ipconfig doesn't execute
----------------------------

On two separate Windows XP Professional Systems I have come come across
a problem where the "ipconfig" command will no longer execute from the
command line. Here is the exact wording:

"C:\>ipconfig

Windows IP Configuration

An internal error occurred: The system cannot find the file specified.

Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help.

Additional information: Unknown media status code.

C:\>Dangit! Give me my IP Address Information!!!
'Dangit!' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file."
C:\>"

I've never seen this happen on other Microsoft Operating system and I
find it very puzzling, and frustrating as well.

Can someone please explain why this happened and possibly offer some
advice on how to fix it?!

Thanks.
