I'm a new user of XP and every now and then I get a grey box come on screen
which offers me the services of Monica or Eva. My mind is boggling but I
just want rid of these annoying boxes. Thanks in advance. Marian

Hi

Please try these programs to check for any spyware that may be on your
system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://forum.aumha.org/downloads/cwshredder.zip
Spy Sweeper - www.webroot.com

Try SpyWareBlaster to stop intrusions:

You should also consider disabling Windows Messenger Service (not MS
Messenger, the instant messaging program), if you have not already done so.

START > RUN, type

services.msc

Wait a moment until the Services snap in loads, then scroll down the list on
the right for Messenger, double click, click the stop button, and then
change the start up type to MANUAL or DISABLED.

You only need this if you are in a managed network environment but Microsoft
had it on by default in in Windowsxp prior to Service Pacl 2

If you have SP2 please disregard
