Hi,
I have huge problem.
I have three OSes Win 2000 Server,
Win XP and Win 2003 Server.
Until today I used Win 2000 Server
with great success.
When Adobe released the latest software
I was forced to upgrade to Win XP PRO because
the new installers do not work anymore
in WIN 2000 environment.
But the WIN XP PRO does have one great
problem it has inbound connection limit up to 10
so only up to 10 network rendering nodes can access
one file on my system at the same time .
If I have 40 network rendering nodes
then the renderings always failed.
So Microsoft recomended me that I upgrade to
WIN 2003 Server OS what I allready did
and found out that several applications
do not start under WIN 2003 OS
especialy my main application Leitch DPS Velocity
( even not in comaptibility mode ) -
it allways crashes.
I have just contacted the Leitch company
where I got the answer
that they shall not support WIN 2003 OS
because of the lack of Directx advanced features and etc...
And I also got the answer from Adobe that
they shall not support the Win 2003 OS
and that some of their applications do not
work correctly under such OS.
So at the end of so much waisted time and money
I found out that Microsoft does not have one
normal professional OS which shall
be capable of more than 10 simultanous
connections and decent multimedia directx and etc.
features in one package.
So how can I increase the inbound connection
limit under WIN XP PRO in order that I could
use all the latest Adobe, Newtek, Leitch and etc.. software
and use their professional features
especialy advanced network rendering
which neeeds more than 10 simultation connections
to the main computer at one time?
Why Microsoft does not release the +10 inbound
XP MEDIA CONNECTION PACK which could cost as one license of
the DSP WIN XP PRO? So one could buy as may packs
as he needs for example 4 packs for 40 inbound connections
and he could then authorize the connections.
In only this why could Microsoft sddress this mockery.
Until then could someone from Microsoft send
me the patch which shall do the same thing as the
XP MEDIA CONNECTION PACK product which shall be maybe released
in the future.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and
thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Gorazd.
