XP in addition to W2K - boot error on install - fix?

Kristi

I know there's a fix for this but searched and couldn't find it.

Running W2K SP4+ on 0,0,partition 1 (primary)
Freed up primary partition 0,0,3 and tried to install XP there, but on its
first reboot during install, it fails due to boot.ini in W2K and says
something about re install ntldr or somesuch - I think it's trying to use the
ntldr and boot.ini in W2K to boot XP.

How to fix, please?

By the way, I got back to W2K by using OSLoader2000 and force booting from
partition 1, and then changing boot.ini by removing the XP line and changing
the default to winnt.

There will eventually be a subsequent question to all this when I try to
migrate both to a SATA drive, but that's for later.

THANKS!!!

Odly, this did not re-occur on second install attempt. Target partition was
now partition 3. I wonder if mbr was re-written at some point. Who knows! All
seems well at the moment.
