XP IE Event Sounds Remain At Default Setting

After changing IE event sound settings, clicking apply, okay and exiting Control Panel, the settings revert back to default. Interestingly, this is a problem only under the Aministrator account for the computer owner. Neither of the following solved the problem: Settings on Exit (Line 54) http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right clicking on the file and selecting Edit. If the above doesn't help: Where did my sounds go? http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm. I welcome any additional suggestions
Thank you.

I want to share with anyone interested, how I `got
around'the sound event default setting problem that I
explained in my initial post. In addition to creating a
new user account which retained all the sound settings
chosen, I discovered a way to alter the sounds that could
not be changed while in the Administrator User Account
(computer owner).
I clicked on All Programs, then Accessories, next
Entertainment, finally Sound Recorder. From the file menu
I chose Open. Then I selected the Windows XP default sound
(that I could not change and save in Sound and Audio
Properties). It was then possible to alter the sound and
save the change, making it a fun sound to use!
Thanks to Kellys-korner-xp.com for the tons of information.
