XP (Home) to W2K No setup

My whole system has been W2K; bought HP a250n with XP
intractably there, bough a fresh Upgrade copy of 2000 When
ruinning root setup: This CD=ROM is from andolder
version, setup function from this disk will be disabled..

Do I have to wipe clean, reinstall NT or 98? XP (Home) is
not at all what W2K is fro my purposes....

If you have the upgrade disk just have the NT4 or Windows 98 disks handy. If you want stability, you should wipe XP out of there.
To setup you will need to boot with the CD and enter setup that way.
