XP home on XP pro domain network

Is there any way to add xphome laptops to an xp pro domain network for
internet and network access?

Well - there's no such thing as an "XP Pro domain" - a domain requires a
server, and XP is a desktop OS.

That said, you can access resources on any network/domain member if you
provide valid domain credentials when doing so. I just don't recommend
introducing operating systems into a domain, that cannot properly *join* the
domain, for myriad reasons.

Many thanks, should have explained it better.
Centre has network (domain, server is probably running W2K ) all connectd
pcs running xp pro. Technician says laptops with xp home cannot be attached
to network as this is a domain network which xp home cannot connect through.

They can *connect* to resources...e.g.,

net use x: \\domainserver\share /user:DOMAIN\domainusername

....but they can't fully participate in the domain. That's probably what the
tech means, although he may not have used the exact terminology.

I don't like the config above as you can't control the machines via group
policy, you can't centralize logins, etc.
