Hi,
I have an issue with a users PC. Recently he installed the updates for XP
home and ever since that time he has been unable to go into any site that
requires a login or is secure, for instance if he goes into Yahoo and try to
log in to his account he is unable to. It gives him a message about the
Firewall, which he has tried to disable in the Control Panel but he is unable
to disable the firewall. I took the steps to have him go into control.exe
netconnections and had him disable the firewall on his High Speed connection
which worked for a time but once he restarted the PC he was again unable to
log on to such sites. He is dialing into the internet via AOL and he has XP
home as his OS. He does not have any outside firewall on his PC. HELP!!

HELP!!

Try re-registering the following dll's at the command prompt (cmd).

If you have SP2, you can do it all in one go:

Start>Run cmd [enter]
iexplore.exe /rereg [enter]

Without SP2:

Start>Run cmd [enter]
regsvr32 mshtml.dll [enter]

Click OK when you get the message that DLLRegisterServer in FileName
succeeded and type "exit" to quit cmd.

Repeat the same with:

regsvr32 mshtmled.dll
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
