XP Home device recognizes ME device, ME one doesn't recognize XP one

Dazed

Have a home network built around a Linksys router, with two desktops
connected (network cable) to this router. (There's also a couple of
wireless laptops not around right now.) Both PCs - one WinME, one XP
Home - connect through this router to the cable modem and internet just
fine, and the XP machine can access the hard drive of the ME device.
From the ME machine, though, I can no longer connect to any of the hard
drives on the XP machine -

This looks to have started when I had to switch to a spare,
already-installed network card on the XP PC; the previously-used one
had failed. I did try "unsharing" and "re-sharing" various drives and
folders on the XP machine, no luck. I didn't see any obvious fixes in
the router configuration screen, and both machines have been rebooted
repeatedly . . . no luck. I've also, as a long shot, updated the
router firmware.

What's the next thing(s) I ought to try?

Thanks -

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too.

With Windows ME and Windows XP together, a master browser conflict is the most
likely.

This does appear to have been the problem. Disabled the ME master
browser, waited a while, and the network reverted to full visibility.

Thanks!

Yay! Thanks for the update!
