I recently reloaded xp and every time i reinstall it it freezes up when i got to name my computer. I have run fdisk, chkdsk, deleted partition and created new one(s) and nothing seems to work. I bought a new WD cavalier 320gb hd thinking my 80gb was bad and it did the same thing. I tried this with 4 different HD's and the results were all the same...freezes.
Now my psu crapped out about a week ago and i'm wondering if it messed up the motherboard in some form or another??
Is there anything else i could do to maybe bypass the naming(tried to skip name process, but it freezes when i do that as well) my computer?
I have a EMachine T2682 w / 2.6ghz Intel Celeron, 80gb WD HD, 768mb of ram. it a 3+ yrs old
