XP Firewall

I want to check if my XP firewall is enabled or otherwise. When I try the
way the Help and Support Centre say, things go awry.
They say 'Open Network Connections'
'Click the dial up, LAN or High Speed internet connection that you want to
protect and then under Network Tasks, click Change Settings of this
Connection'.
When I click my Broadband connection, I get a window 'Connect Broadband
Connection'and none of the buttons lead me to 'Network Tasks'
Your help would be appreciated.

Go to Start/Run and type: control and press OK. At the top of the left
side menu, click the Switch to classic view item. Double click the Network
Connections icon. Right click your connection and select Properties/Advanced
Tab. Place a check mark in the option to Protect my computer.........

Sorry to be a thicky Ronnie but I cannot see a 'Switch to Classic
view'.

If you cannot see the Switch to classic view, then you are likely already
looking at the classic view. Do you see the Network Connections there?

If not, exit that screen. Right click the Start Button and select
Properties/Customize Button/Advanced Tab. Scroll down to Network Places and
place a check mark in the box for that item. Click Apply/OK/OK.

Now click the Start Button again and you should see Network Places on the
right side of that menu. Click this item and it should pop up a window. On
the left side menu, click View Network Connections. This should now display
all of the connections that are set up. Right click the one you use and
select Properties/Advanced Tab. The option at the top of this box is for the
Firewall.
