XP file permission constraint on Win2000 server data

Please Help...

We have a number of XP professional PCs access our 2000
data server. For some reasons when they (originally XP
User) changed the data files permission on the 2000
server, it failed the data permissions on the server. Now,
PC with XP OS can still access the data, but PCs with 2000
OS or even as an administrator on the server will have
access error every time we try to access the file or even
the properties of that file. I think it is an
incompatibility permission issue here but I dont know how
to fix it. Any ideas or some lights will be very much
appreciated. Thanks.

I know of no such incompatibilities. I believe they simply don't
have permission to access.

Give them permission and they will be able to access the
objects.
