XP Faxing Issues

I have setup faxing on windows xp and have set on the receive tab to Enable
device to receive and the Answer mode is set to Manual as I have it running
through my voice line and would rather manually receive the faxes, but on
occasions the computer will pick up the call after I have been talking on
the phone to someone for a few seconds, how do I disable this?

This should not happen. Can you specify more details
around the occasion when this happens? Further is it the
Fax application that is picking up the call?
