XP fax will not install

I had XP fax installed.
I accidentally deleted the fax printer
I uninstalled fax and then tried to reinstall it.
The system will not reinstall it. It goes through the motions, the fax
printer appears and then disappears again. Plus no shortcuts are installed on
teh start menu and the option in add/remove programs is not selected after
the install.

Many thanks for your reply.

I have read through several of the other posts and the article your link
pointed to.
I do not get any messages saying that files cannot be found.
I also tried to remake the security database using mmc but it wont let me
save the new database.

I am an administrator so I should have permission
