XP crashes when deleting large amounts of files

Hi Folks
I have a music system computer which is tweaked for optimum
performance - but when I delete large amounts of files (Like a folder with
800-1000 wav files in) the system crashes to BSOD with a 0x0000007e error.
Its fine if I delete them in small chunks, any suggestions?? Its not the
Hard drive cos it does it on different drives, and I dual boot and on the
"other" side it deletes fine. I think it has a tweak somwhere thats causing
a disc error problem....

Cheers
