XP Crash?

This morning when I shut down my computer I got a totally
blue screen with white lettering basically saying the
following:

"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut
down. Check to make sure any new hardware or software is
properly installed. If the problem persists, disable or
remove newly installed hardware. Disable BIOS memory
options such as caching or shadowing. Restart computer
and press F8 Advanced Startup Options and select Safe
Mode."

Then I saw the following codes:

Stop: 0x86427532 (0X000001DB, 0X00000002, 0X00000003,
0X0000000B)

What does all of this mean? Last evening I uninstalled
Adobe Reader 6.0, but the computer shut down O.K. This
strange problem occurred this morning.

sounds like either you or a virus deleted your files needed to get windows going. i just fixed the neighbor kid's pc with the exact prob and he had a virus and deleted his system volume or the virus according to him. the pc worked fine till he shut it down. the only way it would recover if F8 options don't is usually to get the system disk and try a recovery or (oh oh) a fresh install. someone else might have other options but i am pretty sure this is what you will have to do.
