XP Crash Corrected/Reinstalled Except....

T

Temprock

I did a parallel reinstall after the crash--did not overwrite or
reformat anything--but I'm getting an "Access is Denied" message when I
try to reconnect with my (approx) 500 important WORD docs in the "old"
My Document Folder.

Everything else has been successfully reaccessed and/or reinstalled.
Searches by name of clients come up empty though I know their
correspondence was in the "old" My Documents folder.

Another possibly relevant fact: when I did the parallel reinstall of XP
I was asked to "name" my computer (it is the same old Dell Dimension)
but I gave this computer a "new" name after the reinstall than the one
used 2 years ago.

Are these Administrator/Security issues or were these most important
folder/files the ONLY one "lost" after the reinstall? Is there a way to
get these Word docs associated with everything else on the reinstalled
XP? They are the most crucial.

Thanks for any assistance.

You simply need to take ownership of the files:
