XP connecting to MacOS 10.2.8

Buddy Awreetus

I have a Mac running OS 10.2.8. The printer, a HP 5MP, is
connected via AppleTalk to my home network. I want to be
able to print from my Windows XP machine to this printer.
Windows and Printer sharing is turned on on the Mac.

Where did Network Neighborhood go in XP? I can't see my
OSX machine, but I thought XP would be able to.

Thanks for any help!

I am having a time connecting MAC -> XP. This has a note to use PING
to check that the remote XP sys is reachable. Ping failed. This should
be an easy fix. Right?

Both systems are in my house as part of a home network. My Titanium G4
laptop using OS X is conected to a Ethernet Hub that in turn connects
to another hub that connects to DSL. There is a total of 6 connections
between OS X and DSL. This is ok. There are 4 connections between XP
and DSL. This is ok. Finally there are eight connections between XP
and OS X. Here there is a ping failure.

What can I do to fix the ping? Importantly, why is this ping not
getting through?

is this a snore post? Well I've got something to make it a bit more
fun for the rest of you XP degenerates <ehehe>

I got ping to work. All I had to do was turn off the Firewall optio n!
After turning off the firewall the ping returned 9 milliseconds. I
checked the go/connect to server and the machine is now visible. n!

Network properties: START/Control Panels/Network Connections/LAN/LAN
Connection Status/
1.-/LAN Connection Properties/Advanced=
Protect, <disabled>
2-/LAN Connection Properties/Advanced/Settings=
Previously used these options: L2TP, PPTP, IKE, msmscs (UDP, TCP),
(where is SMB?).

Before u tech heads rape me for not knowing what msmscs is, the answer
is really to get a link or XP reference and translate xp (2) to x.
