XP COME event receiver

Hello

when I try to close my laptop (Dell 8600 Xp home with all updates/
corrections) I receive this message :

if you close the programm now, you will loose every thing which is not
saved....etc

this happens on xpcome event receiver ans sometimes with accapp.

also I can not eject my external hard disk "safely" ( icon in the ask
bar) it always says try again later but nothing changes. My external
drive is a iomega 300gb divided in three partitions 120 100 80

are the two things connected ? and how can I avoid this ?

thank you in advance

Use a program like WhatsRunning to see what is using the USB
hard disk.

Are you sure about the spelling on these apps and errors?

Do you have any Windows Explorer windows open to the drive?
